Technical specifications
Robust and easily retrievable. The biopsy darts have a carbon-fiber shaft and a highly buoyant cast-foam collar. After darting, the floating dart is easily retrieved with a net.
Humane. CETA-DART allows for easy collection of important biopsies without having to catch the animal.
Reliable biopsy needles. The stainless steel tip is designed to extract a small cylindrical sample of the animal's tissue. Backward-facing barbs hold the tissue sample securely inside the tip when the dart bounces off the animal.
Easy launching. The biopsy darts are usually fired from a crossbow. DANiNJECT is working on developing a specialized marine launcher for improved precision and animal safety.
