AirCharge is DANiNJECT’s PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) solution, which enables you to recharge your power source yourself, reducing your dependency on purchasing CO2 cartridges.

AirCharge can be used as an alternative or supplement to CO2 cartridges and is often a cost-effective solution. 

Large CO2 cartridges must be transported as dangerous goods, which poses certain complications. Shipping costs increase significantly, and for veterinarians who travel for work, it’s not possible to bring the large CO2 cartridges along on airplanes. 

That’s why DANiNJECT has developed an alternative that can be transported and shipped without restrictions and, for many, will quickly become a cost-effective solution despite the initial investment in equipment.

At the same time, AirCharge is a more environmentally friendly solution, as it reduces the use of disposable CO2 cartridges in favor of a reusable cylinder. 

AirCharge can easily be used alongside CO2 cartridges as a supplement.

The DANiNJECT AirCharge solution consists of 3 main components:

  • A foot pump from Hill Pumps

  • A compressed air cylinder from Steyr Sporting

  • A special adapter developed by DANiNJECT

Technical specifications

Hill MK5 Dry-Pac PCP handpump. Goes up to 200 bar in 40-50 pumps.

Steyr Steyr compressed air cylinder with integrated pressure gauge. Holds approx. 20 shots of 5-6 bars, which is three times a small CO2 16-gram cartridge and half of a large 72-gram CO2 cartridge.

Special DANiNJECT adapter for easy mounting of the rifle.

DANiNJECT bag for storage and transportation.

What's included if I buy an AirCharge package?

A complete AirCharge package includes everything you need to start using PCP as your power source: 

  • Complete PCP pump 
  • Compressed air cylinder
  • Adapter for mounting the cylinder on the rifle
  • A bag for storage and transportation of the entire set.
Can I use both CO2 and PCP? 

Yes, you can keep using CO2 cartridges when this is more convenient and only use AirCharge as a supplement if you prefer. You can quickly and easily change between the AirCharge cylinder and CO2 cartridges.

Does PCP work as well as CO2?

Yes, compressed air is an equally effective power source.  Some even suggest it is faster and more precise. However, you should always test it and practice before you go to the field.

When is AirCharge more cost-effective than CO2 cartridges?
It depends on your usage, the quantities of CO2 cartridges you buy, and where you need them shipped. If they have to ship by Air Cargo, you will likely break even after about 8-10 large CO2 cartridges.
